Thai National Nurses’ Day

On October 21 of every year is an important official day in Thailand as known as Thai National Nurses’ Day. Many activities such as academic seminars / trainings / conferences, exhibition displays, etc. are organized by the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council, Nurses’ Association of Thailand, Thai Nursing Schools, and Thai Professional Nursing Organizations to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty Princess Srinagarindra, “the Royal Grandmother”.

 

Princess Srinagarindra was born on October 21, 1900. She studied Nursing Science at Siriraj School for Nursing and Midwifery after that she continued her nursing study in USA by a scholarship granted by Prince Mahidol. She made a significant contribution for the development of Thai professional nursing and healthcare system.

Therefore, Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council in collaboration with Nurses’ Association of Thailand organized the activity to commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol (Royal Grandmother) on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Ministry of Public Health.

On this special occasion, Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean of Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS), placed Phum Thong and Phum Ngern Trays in front of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra’s Statue for the Remembrance of Her Majesty Princess Grandmother on that day. Dr. Phat Prapawichar, Associate Dean, Dr. Nungruetai Kanchantra, and nursing students also participated in this especial event.
