BLNS Builds Healthy Connections at Global Nursing Leadership Conference

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science participated in the international conference “Leadership for Global Health: Advancing Nursing and Health Care Systems,” held from June 8–9, 2026, at the Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel, Nonthaburi.

The conference brought together nursing educators, health care professionals, researchers, and academic leaders for an important international gathering focused on nursing leadership, health care systems, research, innovation, and professional collaboration. Organized in collaboration with the Nurses’ Association of Thailand, 52 nursing schools in Thailand, and 25 nursing schools from other countries as co-hosts, the event welcomed approximately 1,400 delegates from nursing schools and hospitals.

 

Representing the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science were Asst. Prof. Dr. Onouma Thummapol, Dean; Dr. Sansani Rattanawaraha, Associate Dean; Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri; Dr. Phat Prapawichar; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa.

Their participation reflected AU’s continued commitment to strengthening academic partnerships, expanding professional networks, and supporting the advancement of nursing education in Thailand and beyond. The conference also served as a meaningful platform for sharing knowledge, building connections, and exploring new directions in nursing care, research, innovation, and global health leadership.

The event carried special significance as participants also celebrated the 84th birthday anniversary of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tasana Boontong, President of the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council. Her lifelong contributions to nursing education and professional development continue to inspire nursing professionals across Thailand and the region.

Through its participation in this international conference, Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science strengthened its healthy connections with national and international nursing organizations while reaffirming its role in preparing future health care leaders with knowledge, compassion, ethics, and a global outlook.
