The Capping Ceremony is a time-honored tradition that signifies the transition from nursing theory to clinical practice. Historically, the nurse’s cap represents dignity and service, while the lamp symbolizes the “Lady with the Lamp,” Florence Nightingale, reflecting the light of care and compassion we bring to humanity.
.
For our Sophomore students (Year 2), this ceremony marks the official beginning of their professional journey. It is a pledge to uphold the ethics and standards of the nursing profession.
.
We warmly invite the parents and families of the Class of 2027 to witness this significant milestone. Your support has been the foundation of their success, and we look forward to celebrating their dedication with you.
(Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony)
To maintain our faculty’s tradition and unity, attendance is mandatory for all Freshman, Junior, and Senior students (Years 1, 3, and 4). Your presence is required to honor your colleagues and reaffirm our shared commitment to the nursing profession.
