Anti-Vaping Movement Gains New Advocate: AU’s Runchachita Tirarujkunkanya
Ms. Runchachita Tirarujkunkanya, a passionate sophomore nursing student, recently made a significant stride in public health by joining the groundbreaking tobacco control initiative, “NO NIC GEN: Our Generation Says No to Vaping.” This event, held from June 29-30, 2024, at the TK Palace Hotel and Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand, was organized by the National Alliance for Tobacco Free Thailand.
Designed to foster tobacco control awareness among youth across various professional fields—medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, etc. — the project aimed to cultivate a society free from cigarettes, vaping, and nicotine. Participants were not only educated but also empowered to serve as ambassadors, spreading clear and accurate information about the dangers of vaping.
Ms. Runchachita stood out among her peers and was honored with an invitation to this exclusive event. Engaging in a variety of innovative and interactive educational activities, she gained invaluable knowledge and skills. Her dedication and enthusiasm were evident as she embraced the opportunity to learn from experts and participate in dynamic edutainment sessions.
Fueled by her newfound expertise, Ms. Runchachita is determined to make a difference. She plans to leverage her training to enlighten others about the truths of vaping and provide essential support to those striving to quit smoking. Her commitment to this cause reflects a brighter, healthier future driven by informed and proactive youth leaders.
